Shallow Serenity
This might look like a shark sneaking up on a bird. But it is adult bottlenose dolphin NF taking a snooze in super-shallow water. But you're right: The great blue heron keeps a wary eye on the dolphin as she passes! Dolphin Fact: Bottlenose dolphins can swim in water that is barely knee-deep. When they swim in such shallow water with only their dorsal fin showing, we say they are “sharking”. Free-ranging dolphins swim while they sleep.
